Feat Tax

Players in this campaign will receive bonus feats in order to eliminate what I consider a “feat tax”. Essentially this means characters will be counted as having the expertise feat, along with the improved defenses feat. You are playing adventurers, not common peasants, so it can be expected that characters will have knowledge and training in such things and will improve upon them over time.

Please note this bonus will not grant you extra abilities from certain feats, only the static feat bonus to attacks and defenses. You are welcome to take those feats to receive the additional bonuses if you so choose.

  • All players receive a +1 feat bonus to weapon and implement attacks. This bonus increases to +2 at 11th level and +3 at 21 level. This lessens the need for expertise feats (though an expertise feat may still be taken for its other features). To reflect this each player may take the base weapon expertise feat for free..
  • All players receive a +1 feat bonus to Fortitude, Reflex, and Willpower defenses. This bonus increases to +2 at 11th level and +3 at 21 level. To reflect this each player may take the improved defenses feat for free.
