The nature of technology in the world of Nimressea has largely been obscured by the dominate forces of magic. And while the power of magical ability cannot be denied, not everyone has access to such power. As such many groups have developed over the years to research and develop new techniques and technology to address many problems the average person may encounter.

Firearms:

Firearms are a relatively new concept to the world of Nimressea, while explosives and other alchemical creations have existed for some time, adapting it into a hand held projectile is something more recent. As such it should be noted that while firearms will tend to be very deadly, they also come with many drawbacks such as long reloads, short range, poor accuracy, and the possibility of malfunction. As such most, if not all will be subject to the following special rules:

Property Description
Unreliable Due to the complexity of the designs, firearms are subject to a multitude of problems during use. To reflect this, when rolling to hit, if the result before modifiers is less than or equal to the number listed on the items Unreliable value a malfunction has occurred. Treat this as if you had rolled a natural 1, in addition make a saving throw as your character attempts to prevent any catastrophic failure. If the save is failed, your character takes damage equal to the weapons damage profile with any appropriate modifiers.
Scatter Some firearms are more dangerous than others, akin to a hand held cannon more than a projectile, the devastation caused by these weapons is undeniable. When making an attack with a weapon with the Scatter special rule, all creatures adjacent to the primary target take half damage.
